This week has flown by! Sorry for no post this week I hope to do better next week. This week I had the privalage of taking some pictures of my cousin for her website. I hope to share it with you soon. While waiting I took a few pictures of little miss and dolly. Dolly goes everywhere with us! Sometimes baby join us but mostly just dolly. I even get called Grandma sometimes when dolly needs something from me.
One of the things I have been told that dolly loves is spinning around...

Little Miss loves to remind she is Dolly's mommy and she loves her so much!

letter C

Two week ago was crazy busy and a bit tough so the beauty of home preschool we just waited a week to do the letter C.
The kids made little c caterpillars and Capital C crabs. We got the idea from the site Homeschool creations. As we make each animal we talk about the sound each letter makes. I am amazed at how fast Little miss is picking it up and how much Little mister likes to help her.

On the days we don't do a specific project we work on brothers homework and Little miss loves to work in her workbook.

I put some yellow, red, and blue paint in a plastic bag sealed it closed and let the kids mix it all together to see what the color together make. They played with it for almost an hour. We then saved them and used them the rest of the week to practice writing our names "in" the paint. The felt like they were doing messy art while it was all contained in a bag.

Little Miss and I had fun making chocolate chip cookies while brother was at school. Little mister loved coming home to a treat of warm cookies.

Lastly on a very rainy Saturday we got home from soccer and decided it was the perfect day to make some yummy chocolate pumpkin cinnamon rolls. Check out the recipe on my friend Lisa's blog. They taste so good!

Make it Monday

First off I must thank my mother in-law for teaching me to sew and starting the sewing bug in me a few years ago. My mom and grandma both tried to teach me when I was younger but it did not really appeal to me till I had a little girl and a home of my own. Sorry mom! I like to sew with patterns but what I really like is taking something and changing it into something new. I am by no means a great seamstress and would terrify some of you that are but I have fun and I am getting better with time. Thank you so much Karen for your patience and gentle instruction.
While out at a garage sale this summer I found this beautiful dress it really looks much better on a hanger but you get the idea. It was on sale for the low price of two dollars with the 21.99 tag still on it :)

I admit when I first saw it I thought of a few friends that would look great in it but then I saw so many different things I could make with the fabric. I have held on to the dress for a few months now because I felt a tad bit guilty cuting it up and I wanted to make sure I knew just what to make. While looking on the web I found this site called Sewing In No Mans Land. I found the perfect thing to make. I used some red I had just bought for another project I am working on and enough left over to make this skirt for Little Miss.

The best part was the top of the dress is that stretchy stitching so no need to do a waist band I just cut in between two rows and stitched it for a clean line. The rest was fairly easy thanks to the great tutorial.
I have so much fabric left over from the dress and a few fun plans for what to do with it. I will keep posted on what happens to the rest of the dress.
