enjoying the sunshine

It may be cold outside but the kids are having fun! I couldn't wait to get the kids outside for two different reasons. One being the chance to run around. Second I have missed my camera and was desperate to take some more pictures. Little mister allowed me to take one picture of him and well I love him to much to post it on the blog. Someday when he is older and needs to be reminded of the funny little things he didas a kid I will show him. However Little miss was all dressed up and ready for the camera. She did not want to wear jeans or a jacket because she informed me " I like my kirt (skirt) I look cute."
Her boots, glasses, baby doll and "kirt". Everything a girl needs to play outside :)

week in review

What a crazy week! So much going on and yet we are in a time of waiting.
Little Mister has rediscovered his love for science. He got a mad science kit for Christmas from Aunt Rae and Uncle Tim and he would use it all day everyday if he could. This week we made crystals. After mixing the different things together and waiting two hours we got these wiggly gel like crystals. Then you have to wait another 24 to 48 hours for them to shrink up and become "real" crystals. the kids have loved it so much we did it twice this week. I think this week we may try making rock candy.
We also put our house for sale last Saturday. We have had someone come look at the house almost everyday. It has helped me keep our house so clean and I have loved keeping up with the house work just a little each day. Oddly I find myself with more time on my hands. I think I need a fun project to start on. Well I have been busy looking for fun ideas for the kids rooms in our next house, which we still need to find :)
The kids have been busy playing with the puppet theater I made them for Christmas. They tell the funniest stories. I was so excited to make this for them. I took an old curtain panel from Goodwill for $3 and extra buttons , fabric and buttons from home. The hardest part was framing the stage. The kids also got some of felt figures I found in the dollar bin at the fabric store and I added craft sticks to the end for puppets. I had also saved any of the foam figures they made in crafts this year and added craft sticks to those as well. Little Mister loves to tell mini lessons on How God wants us to act and little miss likes to make her puppets sing and dance.

Yesterday we spent the day relaxing and enjoying family time. While Little Miss was supposed to be taking a nap I came in the front room to find her wearing her dress, hair taken out of braids, eating dorritos and sitting with daddy watching a movie! Got to love family time.

Little Miss has found a new favorite thing. It combines her current love, of shopping, all thing pretty and princesses. Wedding dress shopping! She has been able to go with us to look at dresses for Aunt Bethany. She loves seeing her Aunt all dressed up!

Tonight she discovered they have pretty dresses in her size too...

I think we might be in some trouble :)

word for the year....

My wonderful Mother in-law introduced me to the idea a few years ago of a word for the year. She always picks such great words I often want to use her word the next year. My word last year was hope. Other then get tiered of seeing the word with Obhama's face next to it, I loved the word. It fit so well with all that was happening. Ammy's recovery, Little Misters and Little MIss learning so many new things and new adventures, Brian's new Job and me newly staying at home with the kids.
This year I have debated back on forth on two different words. Even as I writing this I am still debating on which one to choose. I am going to save one for next year as I think it will fit better. This year I am choosing a word that goes with some of my goals for me and the home this next year. I want the word to reflect in everything I do. The word of 2010 is:

THOUGHTFUL!
–adjective
1. showing consideration for others; considerate.
2. characterized by or manifesting careful thought: a thoughtful essay.
3. occupied with or given to thought; contemplative; meditative; reflective: in a thoughtful mood.
4. careful, heedful, or mindful: to be thoughtful of one's safety

I hope to make each decision with plenty of thought on how it will effect me and my family. Some may think with this word it means I will be doing lots for others and the community around me. While I do want to be thoughtful toward others and show compassion and love, for me it means saying no more often and being more mindful of the needs of my family. I hope to be more reflective in the blessing God has given me meditative on his word. I hope to do more thinking before my actions and most of all with my words. I often jump in when a job or team needs some help. While I think this is a good things it can also be a negative thing. By over committing myself and not allowing my family to have the time they need from me. Also if I am always jumping in it doesn't allow for anyone else to serve. Almost make your serving act become somewhat selfish. As we move further into 2010 I am hopeful and excited to take the time to be more thoughtful in my actions, decisions, words, and everyday life.
What is your word for the year or hope for 2010?
