Chief Joseph Days Jr Parade

Our first time this year to watch the parade but it is sure to become a new tradition! We sat in the shade and enjoyed watching the local kids all dressed up. The kids loved the hand full of candy they gathered as it was thrown out to them. I loved the innocence of the whole thing! The simple time time together as a family.

adventures by the lake

up up and away goes my might super herowatch out super C is on the way...
Our friend Mister M.

our friend Miss E who loved to make funny faces for the camera

late night fire

Another favorite pass time is the late night fire and some yummy smores. This year for Karen and Rae's birthday we combined those things and had a smore party. I forgot to get some pictures of all the yummy stuff set up but it was a big spread of goodies. I covered the table with pink bandanas and so many different smore options to choose from. We had plain, chocolate, caramel, and strawberry marshmallows. I then had a variety of chocolate choices including Hersey bars, nutella, fudge frosting, peanut butter cups, peppermint patties, and chocolate caramel squares.
My favorite was chocolate marshmallows with peppermint patties.

Joseph Oregon Stampede

We wait every year in the hot sun for the stampede that last about 3min. What can I say but that we like traditions.

friends

I am finally finishing up the wallow pictures! This year we were so lucky to have some wonderful friends join us. My friend Jess and I met through church when we were both pregnant with our youngest. We have been trough many joyful and some heartbreaking moments in life together in just the few years we have known each other. Our whole family is blessed to have them in our lives! This year we found out they make great camping buddies too. On this afternoon we went to the other side of the lake so we could have a view of the mountains.

Thanks for joining us this year and we look forward to many more adventures at the lake with all of you!

At the lake...

our first day at the lake! I can't begin to describe the feeling when we lay out the blankets and towels, set up the sun shelter, and put your toes in the lake for the first time each summer. It is like you are back to a place where your heart has been missing. A place where time and worries can be put on hold. Where wonderful memories come back and the excitement of making new ones warms your soul. Yes i know some of you may think I am crazy it is just camping after all. For me it is so much more it is a part of my husbands history and his dad too of camping there. It is a vacation where the entertainment is not tv ,video games or Internet. There is no lines to wait in and my cell phone didn't even work in camp. I didn't really ever care to know what time it was or if the kids had ice cream for lunch. What I do know is it is full of laughter, and family!

Hiking

Our one vacation every year so be prepared for picture overload all this next week. Have I mentioned before that I LOVE Wallowa lake!
Every year it changes as to who can make it how and long they will stay. This year we were so lucky to have my dear friend Jess. I hope everyone can have a friend like her in there life the added bonus to our friendship is our kids get along great too!
We headed out one morning on a small hike with our kids and miss M and her grandma. It was fun to see the kids walking along and getting annoyed with my stopping to take pictures.
