Wollowa trip

What a vacation!!!! I took over 400 pictures but don't worry I won't bore you with all of them. I feel like we are still cleaning things, doing laundry and trying to get back into everyday life after vacation. I have to tell you that all of us are still sad that are week at Wallowa Lake has come to an end. My mother in law once said that going to Wallowa felt like coming home after a long trip. I understand what she means now. When you turn that corner and the lake stretches out before me I feel peace and excitement. Some of you wonder why we go for so long so I hope to tell you and show over the next few days the best I can what an amazing time we have.
Not the best picture but you get the idea( I hope)....

We start off leaving our house around 5:15-5:30 to meet up with the caravan at 6am. After meeting up saying hello and a joining in a group prayer for our safety and those meeting us there we hit the road. Our first stop is McDonald's in the Dallas where we meet up with some friends from dallsport. Eat some breakfast and the kids get to play for just a bit. This year little miss scared us all by getting stuck in the slide and refusing to come down. luck Miss S our new friend was willing to go behind her and help push her out. From that moment on Little Mister called miss S "my best friend because she saved my sister". With a few stops her and there for bathroom, lunch and shopping at wall mart for last minute things we got to The campsite around 2:30. The kids even joined in to help this year...

We were set up and ready to make dinner around 4:30. The kids spent the evening planning around camp and exploring our camp site. We were in a different site this year and it took some getting used to. We did love our Neighbors on either side and the big grassy area for the all the kids to play in, We did take the kids down to see the lake and I left my camera behind, as much as I wish I had photos of the family moment down at the lake with no one else around. It was kind of nice to just be together and not worry about the right picture :)
We ended the night with reading to the kids from new books we got for the trip. then once they were off to sleep it was campfire and games for the two of us.
