wallowa Wednesday

We do the usual lake thing today but 2 exciting things happened on Wednesday... Grandma and Grandpa took the kids to there own treasure island where Little Miss made leaf boats and LIttle Mister helped build a dam. The other fun adventure is the rodeo. I know what you are thinking the Germer's are not rodeo people but one night a year the wild west comes alive in us. We had so much fun! The kids did ok, mostly little mister played with the gravel and Little miss cried, snuggled with grandma, and went on walks with both mom and dad. She did however get to meet a real rodeo cowboy and also meet some of the horses.

This little girl was one of the mutton busters and she stayed on for so long the crowd was going wild for her.

My cute little cowboy and cowgirl....

10 years....

Happy anniversary Brian!!! I can't believe it has been 10 years already. I feel so blessed to be married to my best friends and a such an amazing guy. I was thinking of all the things we have been thru together over the years and I am so glad you were right by my side for all of them! I look forward to see what lies ahead for us....
(thanks mom G for scanning these for me)

Tuesday at Wallowa

Tuesday the kids went hiking with grandma and Grandpa and some of our other camping friends. they had so much fun!!! Little miss ended up falling asleep in grandma's arms while on the hike. The hike ended with Ice cream and then off to the lake again for more fun....

Little Miss loved being on the floaty. She would lie on her tummy and look through the foot hole trying to find all kinds of things. Mostly she just found daddy's hand pretending to be a fish :)

I was featured on another blog :)

Little Miss's 2nd birthday party is featured today at this web site... What a fun surprise for me

Monday at Wallowa

Monday we went into the town of Joseph to by our tickets for the rodeo and do a little shopping. In town is this great little store called Simply Sandy's. She sells antiques and new things I love getting new ideas there. This year she had this cute little swing outside and I asked if I could let Little miss use it for some pictures. I am so thankful she said yes!

Near the store is a bridge over a little stream it is so pretty to look at plus it always give this refreshing breeze while in the very hot town.

Colin had fallen down the day before and nearly missed a large cement block. poor Brian had to watch it all it what seemed like slow motion. He is fine just a few scraps on his face. He couldn't wait to leave down and get to the lake...

After a morning in town which also included a stop at mad Mary's for some iced Chai for me and mocha's for Brian and Melissa, we went back down to the lake...

Todays activity, fishing...

Little Miss enjoyed Bowling with Uncle Tim...

The evening ended with another chapter of Henry Huggins and sleep for the kids while we enjoyed games and the fire.

Sunday at Wallowa

Sunday we hung around camp playing games and chatting in the morning...

The kids went on a hike with daddy...

Then it was time to relax down at the Lake!!!

Little Mister loved making "coffee" with Little Miss by mixing dirt and water together.

The other game was with his friend miss S she would send Little Miss's Barbie out into the lake and Little Misters rescue hero would save her. It was really cute to watch!

Little Miss liked playing and "making coffee" but what she really loved today was sitting under the sun shelter and watching everyone play games, ladder ball, and read down by the lake. This is my favorite picture of the day!

Wollowa trip

What a vacation!!!! I took over 400 pictures but don't worry I won't bore you with all of them. I feel like we are still cleaning things, doing laundry and trying to get back into everyday life after vacation. I have to tell you that all of us are still sad that are week at Wallowa Lake has come to an end. My mother in law once said that going to Wallowa felt like coming home after a long trip. I understand what she means now. When you turn that corner and the lake stretches out before me I feel peace and excitement. Some of you wonder why we go for so long so I hope to tell you and show over the next few days the best I can what an amazing time we have.
Not the best picture but you get the idea( I hope)....

We start off leaving our house around 5:15-5:30 to meet up with the caravan at 6am. After meeting up saying hello and a joining in a group prayer for our safety and those meeting us there we hit the road. Our first stop is McDonald's in the Dallas where we meet up with some friends from dallsport. Eat some breakfast and the kids get to play for just a bit. This year little miss scared us all by getting stuck in the slide and refusing to come down. luck Miss S our new friend was willing to go behind her and help push her out. From that moment on Little Mister called miss S "my best friend because she saved my sister". With a few stops her and there for bathroom, lunch and shopping at wall mart for last minute things we got to The campsite around 2:30. The kids even joined in to help this year...

We were set up and ready to make dinner around 4:30. The kids spent the evening planning around camp and exploring our camp site. We were in a different site this year and it took some getting used to. We did love our Neighbors on either side and the big grassy area for the all the kids to play in, We did take the kids down to see the lake and I left my camera behind, as much as I wish I had photos of the family moment down at the lake with no one else around. It was kind of nice to just be together and not worry about the right picture :)
We ended the night with reading to the kids from new books we got for the trip. then once they were off to sleep it was campfire and games for the two of us.

We had so much this 4th! We went to oxbow park with the Germers and Petersons. It was like a mini vacation! the kids had so much fun. the best was how relaxing it was just being with family. We left the park around 7:30pm put the kids in PJ's and drove home. Both went to bed close to bed time and Brian and I watched a movie while seeing the neighbors fireworks thru the window.
