One day on our way to the lake we found a class for the kids teaching about Native American Indian rock art. They taught on the two styles of art:pictographs, which are drawings or paintings made on rocks, and petroglyphs, which is when the images have been carved into the rock. The kids then got to choose a rock and make a pictograph or petroglyph. All of the girls choose to make pictographs with the paint markers. Miss C's picture was of her and her friend Miss L playing at the lake. Mr C made a petroglyph with the Zelda video game symbol :)
The Rocks are sitting on a self at home to remind them of Wallowa all year round.
