Second Grade field trip

Mr. C's class has been studying insects fro the last three weeks. So for this years field trip we headed to the Nature park to learn all about the insects and bugs that live there. In the morning we walked the park and looked to things to our alphabet list of living things in the park. The conversation between the kids cracked me up!

 One of my favorite flowers.

After a picnic lunch we went to learn about the three different types of bugs and insects that lived in the park. First up was grass or meadow bugs. The kids took turns catching things in the nets and then looking at them in the boxes. We then moved on to forest bugs and insects where the kids got to dig in the dirt and try to find some bugs. Last was water bugs where the park had a big tank of tadpoles and buckets filled with pond water to sift through and find water bugs.

Mr C and his best buddy Mr L.

What a fun day! I loved watching Mr C learning with his friends. Special thank to Miss Jess for taking such good care of Miss C so I could go.

May Birthdays

This year her birthday fell on Mothers day and a Timbers game. We celebrated the day with a few friends and had lots of fun. She also had a mermaid themed party and i will post more about that later. I can not believe how much she has changed in a year. I think the biggest thing is just how much she is reading! I love you sweet girl!!!
One more may Birthday....
Happy Birthday Grandma! Well a few months early... We "surprised" Grandma with a party for her 60th birthday however she was to smart for us and figured it out. I apologize now for the lack of photos. I was a bit busy and handed the Camera off to other people :)
I would like to say a great big thank you to so many who helped pull this off! There truly is to many to list, but please know your kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you!
The Germer Boys (plus one)

We had fun using old photo's to decorate with and reading peoples memories and stories about Karen. Happy Early Birthday Karen you deserve a day all about you. I am truly blessed to have you as such a big part of my life. Watching your friends pitch in and help, laugh and celebrate, and share stories shows just how much you mean to so many.

Soccer in Pink...

Spring soccer has come to an end and what a fun season we had! Miss C was able to be on the same team again as her good friends Miss M, Miss M and Miss L. Next year they will not all be able to play one the same team so I tried to enjoy every moment they played together this season. Miss C has taken too watching the Portland Thorns games with me and loves to cheer for her favorite player Olympic gold medalist Alex Morgan and Allie Long. Notice the ponytail and pink headband a signature Alex Morgan look. Thank you to those who endured the rain and cheered Miss C and her friends on as the played. Thank you to my friends and fellow soccer parents who made each Saturday something to look forward to.

Miss M, Miss L and Miss C (the other Miss M was out on the field doing some cool soccer moves)

Make a wish

All of Portland had a chance to help make a wish come true for one little boy named Atticus. He wished for his soccer team to play the Timbers in a match. Click on link to read more about it and watch a life changing video.
So yes we took our kids out of school for the day and couldn't wait for them to learn about make a wish more and  learn some life lessons on compassion, hope and kindness. We meet up with Aunt Sissa,  The Ballanti family, and uncle Tim for a fun filled afternoon. The only time we will cheer for someone to beat the Timbers :)
3, 000 fans showed up to watch a boys dream come true.

Germer Family Day

Another tax season is finished so that means it was time for Family day! A fun filled day at the children's museum and then pizza and a movie at home.  I was so proud of the kids as we were there on a school day so it was mostly preschoolers there. They were so kind and helpful to the other kids, moments that make this momma proud.
