my little sunshine...

 Last weekend I had the privilege of taking pictures for a wonderful family. Miss C asked to join me this time and be my assistant. I was a little nerves as to how that might go but I knew Derek and Krista would be ok with it. She did awesome! After we finished the photo shoot she asked me to take a few pictures of her. Then her next question made my heart melt, she asked to take some pictures all by herself! I admit my heart was beating fast at the idea of handing over my camera to a 7year old :)
I am so glad I did! I had so much fun teaching her and just spending time together! We are already planning another photo outing very soon.

preview for Sis in law and Niece

Not only did I get to enjoy some awesome company and lots of snuggles but I was lucky enough to snap a few pictures of some super cute kids. Fall leaves

Technically it is not winter yet right? Even if after this post is written I am going to set up my Christmas tree. I just had to share a few pictures from a sunny fall day a few weeks ago. I love this time of year and all the pretty colors, crisp mornings and warm afternoons, pumpkin muffins and a hot cup of tea! I hope your fall was full of simple moments that turn in heartwarming memories.

Apple Orchard

Miss C's first grade class was headed to the apple orchard for a field trip and she was so excited to go! I had to be the one to break the bad news that the field trip was after we moved to the new house so she would not be able to go. Well what you may not know  is she had one of the greatest teachers around who invited us to join her and her family at the apple orchard on a Saturday morning so Miss C could still go with her teacher to the apple orchard. Not only did the amazing Mrs. Myers meet us there with her adorable kids and kind hubby, she was not feeling well at all, her hubby had a bad tooth ache but they smiled through the whole morning. I know there are lots of great teacher out there and we have been very lucky to meet some of them and have our kids in their classes. I however feel really blessed that both kids had Mrs Myers for Kindergarden and Miss C had her for part of first grade but the best part is she became more then a teacher  but a good friend also. Thank you Mrs Myers for a wonderful morning with your sweet family and for being such an unforgettable teacher and friend! I'm really bummed we forgot to get a picture of you and your family while we were all together. 

NWSL Champions

So you may already know we are big soccer fans in this house. We watch every Timbers game and cheer them on no matter the score :) So when Portland announced a women's team we were excited and I could wait to show it to Miss C! We have had so much fun watching the games and she has become a big fan of Alex Morgan, Ali Long and Christine Sinclair. She even had a chance to meet them this summer and get her Alex Morgan book signed by the team. When they won the championship Portland announced a special meet and greet at Jeld wen field. Only bad thing was it was to be on the second day back to school. Well this mama asked her friend to join her and headed down there on the max to get a tee shirt signed for my little fan.

Back to school

 They are off to another great school year! Mr C is very happy to have his two best friends in his class and the fabulous Mrs Hale as his 3rd grade teacher.

 Miss C. is super excited to have Mrs. Myers and Mrs Strande this year in 1st grade. Mrs Myers was her Kindergarten teacher as well. She was surprised that morning to find a friend that she new from preschool in her class!

They were both pleased with the first day of school and now enjoy the time with with their teachers and friends. This mama however misses them like crazy!
