Yesterday was one of those wonderful days where the sun shines and all seems to just be peaceful. Thanks to grandma and Grandpa I am felling better from a good night sleep while they had the kids overnight. So we headed out for a playdate at the park that carried over to lunch, then an extended playtime. Where a good friend watch the kids while I went grocery shopping. We came home and practice riding bikes which Little Miss got from another good friend of ours.

Then after play out side for most of the day we headed inside for diner and some board games. Once the kids were asleep Aunt sissa came over and stayed with them and I met Brian for Happy hour at Gustov's by his work. We then came home and watched 24 and How I met your mother.
I love these kinds of days! simple fun times with friends and family!!!

Growing up....

The past week I have seen so many changes in Little mister he does not want help with anything and he wants to anything he thinks is grown up. He now ask to take a shower each morning and what his job is for the day. He wants to help his sister most of the time. He has even taken up vacuuming and dusting the front room. He also talks about ow he can play for a little bit then he needs to go to work and help some other people. He then dicapears in to his room and draws and plays for a good length of time. The other day he was taking a long time in the restroom and I asked if he was ok. He said he need some privacy. Then told me I could come in if I wanted too he was just shaving. .. of coarse I instantly thought how did he find a razor and how much damage is done. I opened the door to find him with soap on his face and using his sisters barbie pony brush to "shave". He agreed to let me take pictures of his first "shave".

Guess it is time to find him a kit that will not dry out his skin and does not use pink barbie tools.

Happy Saint Patricks day!

What fun we have had today even though we are still getting over colds, ear and sinus infections.
The kids woke to find gold coins leading them to a small gift of green jelly beans and Legos for Little Mister and a Stacey doll for Little miss. They were super excited to wear new shirts I made for them yesterday. They were so easy to make and lots of fun we will defiantly do it again in the future. I found the instructions on several different sites. Here is the link to one of them- Tee Shirt

You take a tee shirt then adhere any shape or letters with either spray glue or a pins just make sure it will stay put temporally. For Little Misters I cut a shamrock from copy paper. Little miss I used a wooden heart shape. You then spray it with bleach. Here is a lesson I learned spray once then see what it looks like if you want more then spray again. Once you are happy with how your shirt has lightened up remove stencil and rinse shirt in water. ( I sprayed the back with bleach too to make it look more uniform be fore rinsing the shirt) Then wash and dry before wearing.

I am so excited to make some more for the summer! If you make any let me know I would love to see what you came up.

After Preschool we went outside to play for a bit before picking up Aunt sissa. The kids were so great in letting me take some pictures however Little Mister informed me he would only smile ten times so I need to take the pictures fast :)

Well we are now off to make some rainbow cupcakes to enjoy after our Irish dinner. Have a great day!

smile

My kids keep me laughing....
Last week while talking about how God created the world the kids were asked to each Thank God for one thing he created
Little Mister " Dear God thank you for creating my dear sweet beautiful mom"
Little Miss " Dear God thanks for making Barbies"

Today as I was tickling Little Mister he asked me to stop he does not like tickles. So I asked if he liked it when I poked him. He looked at me with a very serious look on his face and said " No mom that would be assault"

Little Miss just asked if we could got to the "grassy" store to buy more milk.

Hope you had some funny things to laugh about today!

Knitting a way to africa

My amazing little sister is taking a missions trip to Africa this summer. I could not be more excited for her as this has been a dream of hers for a very long time! I just know she is going to be snuggling every little child and be heart broken when she has to come home but have had the experience of a lifetime. I wish I could go with her just to take pictures of the whole thing. My Aunt Marie has started a group on facebook hoping to help Melissa raise her support money but I thought some of you non facebook people would be interested in hearing about it.
Here is What she has to say:
What have I been doing since we closed the Tigard Sub Shop you ask? I have been "Knitting A Way to Africa" for my niece Melissa. I have been knitting dish cloths and would like to sell them to support her in her efforts to raise money.

My goal is 200 dish cloths; I am selling them for $2.50 each. If you would like to order please make your check payable to Tigard Christian Church and mail it to Marie Marr, P.O. Box 230471, Tigard, Oregon 97281. If you would like a specific color please let me know, if you do not care I will choose for you. If you need to have it mailed to you please provide me with a 6"x9" envelope self-addressed, and stamped (two will fit in this size envelope) postage for one (1) cloth is .61 cents and .17 cents for each additional cloth.

I will make the cloths in the order that payment is received; your canceled check can serve as your receipt.
The team deadline for donations is March 31, 2010 and all funds will need to be received in order for Melissa to receive credit. Please understand that I will not be able to complete all of the dish cloths by March 31, 2010, but I will make them in the order I receive them, and hopefully be able to meet everyone's request.

This is in association with Tigard Christian Church
